Sustainability in the health and beauty products industry is sure to be a hot topic at this year’s HBA Global Expo, June 28-30, at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, NY. Intertek regulatory services expert Naeem Mady will discuss the emerging trend of sustainable packaging as well as the regulations surrounding recycled materials and biopolymers used in packaging, during the HBA Global Expo’s Technical Track Education Series on June 30, from 10 a.m. until 12:40 p.m., as part of Cosmetic Valley’s Innovation and Sustainable Products session.

While the health and beauty industry has embraced innovative “green” products manufactured using all-natural and organic ingredients, sustainable packaging is a relatively new concept in this industry that relies heavily on grabbing consumers’ attention with eye-catching and attractive displays and packaging. Product packaging represents the highest environmental footprint for the health and beauty industry and is also a significant contributor to landfills. Recognizing this, more and more health and beauty products companies are incorporating sustainable packaging materials that are recycled or bio-degradable.

Intertek offers comprehensive testing, inspection, auditing and consulting solutions for the cosmetics industry, including environmental, life cycle management and regulatory approval strategies for cosmetics and packaging, toxicity assessments, consumer trials, clinical investigations and more.
